"WiFi works well most days, I think?"
Most days the WiFi works fine for me. It does drop every now and then, but it reconnects fast, so I’m guessing that’s normal?

"The remote works just fine, honestly"
I got my roku mostly because I wanted streaming to be simple, and the remote has been great every time I use it. I know some people like to complain about little things, but I really haven’t had any issues. The buttons respond quickly, there’s no annoying lag, and everyone in my house can figure it out without needing a whole lesson. I actually like the shortcut buttons too. So far, I don’t have any complaints.

"Pretty easy to log in overall"
I went to Roku to get into my account and check my devices, and honestly... it was straightforward. The login worked fine, and the code came through quickly. It did take me a minute to figure out where the account settings were, but it wasn’t a big hassle or anything. The site loaded okay on my phone too. I’d give it 4 stars because it could be a little more simple, but overall... getting access was easy.

My Roku stopped connecting to Wi-Fi after an update, so I reached out through Roku for help. The first response took longer than I expected, and I felt a little dismissed at the start, like it was just a basic user error instead of an actual issue.

Once I finally got connected with someone, they were polite and walked me through a reset and a few settings changes. It took about 20 minutes, but my Roku was working again after that. The support ended up being solid, I just wish the beginning felt a little more attentive

I use my Roku pretty much most nights, the ads don’t really bug me :). They’re on the home screen, sure, but they don’t feel like they’re taking over everything.
Compared to some other streaming devices and apps, the amount of ads feels reasonable. I can still get to my apps quickly without being forced to sit through random clips all the time.
So yeah, it’s 5 stars from me! Simple to use, works well, and while the ads are there, they’re not annoying enough to be a problem.

"Still going strong after years"
I’ve had my Roku for about 3 years now and it really still works like it did on day one. It’s been dropped a few times and moved between rooms a lot, but I haven’t had any issues with it. The remote is a little scratched up, but it still works fine. I’m really happy with how well it’s held up.

Overall, it’s been good and the updates do help. I just get a little nervous every time one rolls out because I don’t want to feel like I’m being tricked into installing something that ends up breaking my apps. Most of the time it’s fine, but every now and then a bug pops up and makes me regret updating so quickly.

I’m frustrated and uneasy about seeing charges I didn’t authorize, so I can’t really give this a glowing review right now.

If this happened to me, I’d want Roku to clearly explain what the charge was for and get it fixed quickly, because nobody wants to deal with that kind of surprise on their account.

If it gets refunded or properly sorted out, I’d feel a lot better about leaving a fair review based on how support handled the situation.

"Search Could Be Better, But Sure"
Roku is fine overall, I guess, but trying to actually find something to watch can be way more annoying than it needs to be. The search results throw free stuff, paid stuff, and random channels together like that’s somehow helpful. Sometimes I know for a fact a show is on an app I already have, but Roku still decides to show me a bunch of other options first, which is great if you enjoy wasting time. The discovery pages also seem to recycle the same suggestions over and over. It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not as useful as it acts like it is.
